Update 9th October 2020

From the 10th October until 25th October the Scottish Government has introduced extra restrictions in some parts of Scotland which affect cycling activities. However these restrictions do NOT apply in Fife or Perth & Kinross regions, so our Club Rides can continue as they have done recently. For full details, and how this effects the other regions click here.

Update 12th September 2020

From Monday 14th September the Scottish Government have tightened restrictions to a maximum of six people from two households to meet together - either indoors or outdoors. These changes to meeting socially do not apply to services or activities that are already exempt from these restrictions and have been permitted to open subject to their own guidance such as organised sport. They do not apply to club runs. However they do apply immediately before, and after club activity, including cafe stops.

This included the Club appointing a Covid Organiser, (Paul Zarb) who shall collect and retain for 3 weeks the Track and Trace data of members who attend the Club runs, in line with Scottish Government Track & Trace Covid policy.

  • Track and Trace Data will be collected for each member or Guest rider who attends the Club Runs
  • Normal social distance rules apply before and after the Club Run i.e. 2 m rule
  • During the Club Run physical distancing is suspended i.e. social distance rules do NOT apply
  • The wearing of a Face masks by riders during the ride is optional.
  • People cannot come out on club rides if...
    • They have Covid-19 symptoms
    • Someone in their household has Covid-19 Symptoms
    • They have been asked to self-isolate at home by the Scottish Governments Test and Protect System
    • Have returned from a country on the UK's quarantine list within the previous 14 days.

Club Specific Rules & Guidelines

  • Members must pre-book a place on the Club Ride using a Phone APP.
  • Paul has selected the Spond App.
  • The club has decided to reduce the maximum number of KCC members who can attend Club to 24 people from unlimted households. This is stricter than the SC guidelines but we wish to trial it with a smaller number and if successful, consider increasing the number.
  • Depending on the number of riders who attend (max of 24)  the Club will split into multiple groups.
  • Until this new system is shown to work, non members cannot currently attend the club runs
  • There will be only one Saturday Run and it will be at Social pace and the typical Social run distance
  • There will be NO Cafe stops, and the club recommends that each rider carry their own food and enough water
  • If there is no Ride Leader available for a club run then the club ride will be cancelled

Aside from the APP used to book Club Rides, would all Club Members please ensure that your contact details are up to date in your user account on British Cycling. (Note: this is the account used to buy a membership for KCC NOT any account used to buy a Gold, Silver, bronze or Ride membership with BC)

These guidelines are subject to any future updates from SG, SC and the Club
