A team of 4 cyclists from Kinross Cycling Club (Angus McCulloch, Scott Cunningham, Paul Murray and Ross Cowie) will ride across Scotland in near naked skin suits to raise money and awareness of two cancer charities; Maggies Centres (Scotland) and M.C.A.C. - Male Cancer Awareness Campaign. All the money raised will be split evenly between the two charities.
The team will be wearing the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign "Near Naked Man Race suits". Designed to promote awareness and reduce embarrassment. Promoted as the worlds most eye catching cycling apparel. The head turning suits cannot be bought, suits must be earned. Blood, sweat or tears.
The idea of the ride is from club member Angus McCulloch who has a very personal experience of cancer with both his wife and his late father in law being cancer sufferers. Angus said "My wife, Stephanie, was diagnosed with breast cancer the same week her father died of prostate cancer. It has been a tough year and we are not over it yet. We have had tremendous help from the Maggies centre in Edinburgh. We are looking forward to the challenge and meeting staff and patients at the Centres. We hope to get as much support as possible."
The team will ride some 300 miles over 4 days taking in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness.
